Any organization can say they offer training to their employees, but not the AQS Way! Our program is carefully developed for new hire acclimation, performance management and feedback, self-development and planning, skills training, and leadershop development. Fast Tracs - Getting a career started off right is extremely improtant to success. The AQS Way starts at New Hire Orientation and continues with a curriculum of self-paced, self-study and hands-on training courses designed to support career growth; all of the while pairing individuals with experienced personnel that assist with the day-to-day work. - New Hire Orientation is a significant factor in helping new employees hit the ground running. It is the process we use to welcome a new employee into our organization. New Hire Orientation often includes an introduction to each department in the company and training courses speciific to the job they have been hired to fulfill. It includes spending time doing the jobs in each department to understand the flow of the product or service throughout the organization.
- Development continues through courses offered at AQS. Our employees work with their manager to select the appropriate courses to support the career goals outlined in their Individual Development Plan (IDP - see below). The curriculum is a combination of hands-on training classes mixed with self-paced/self-study lessons expanding the individual's knowledge and experience.
- Mentors are individuals who pass knowledge within a discipline to someone less experienced in a similar area. At AQS we understand that it takes more than sending someone to a training class and that it takes more than hard work on the part of employees. One of the most important keys to new employee success is having a mentor. The AQS Mentor program pairs new hires with an AQS certified mentor in order to increase knowledge transfer.
- On-the-Job Training, in conjuction with our mentoring, sets new employees up for success. It is one of the best training methods because it is conducted immediately when needed. On-the-Job Training is used for broadening employee skills and increasing productivity. It is particularly appropriate for developing proficiency skills unique to their job - especially jobs that are relatively easy to learn but are not part of the daily routine.
Leadership Series – The AQS Leadership Series is a progressive set of learning and growth opportunities for managers and future leaders to stretch their knowledge about effective management techniques. To support their Individual Development Plans (IDP’s) our management team and future leaders participate in HR Roundtables and AQS Training classes on subjects such as performance evaluation and management, finance, project management, on-boarding new employees, and the list goes on! Individual Development Plan (IDP) – The IDP is the tool to identify your strengths and areas for further development that creates an understanding of the base line for your current skills, knowledge, abilities and contributions – these create the foundation for the goals set: - Identify the kinds of roles within AQS, or within a professional track, that interest you and will provide the career path that the goals will strive towards;
- Create a clearly defined, individualized career development plan that addresses both your short and long term goals;
- Outline the courses, training and other developmental opportunities for skill, knowledge and ability growth;
- Reinforce and recognize positive behaviors and actions, as well as provide guidance on refining areas requiring further development;
- Help facilitate AQS’ leadership development and succession planning processes.
- The goals are tied to a specific action plan with an anticipated result following the SMART method:
(Specific, Measurable, Action Oriented, Results Based, Time-bound).
